The LINX system is used in gastro-oesophageal reflux and is a small flexible band of titanium beads with magnetic cores. LINX works by staying opposed when not eating or drinking therby not allowing stomach acid to go up into the oesophagus. When eating and drinking the pressure from the oesophagus allows the beads to open.
The LINX is inserted laparoscopically with any hiatus hernia being repaired at the same time. Post procedure that patient can eat and drink normally and goes home the same day as the procedure.
